Hey there, everyone! We’re excited to share that the ENGAGE kickoff meeting recently took place in Livorno, hosted at the “Consorzio per il Centro Interuniversitario di Biologia Marina ed Ecologia Applicata” G. Bacci (CIBM).
CIBM, a non-profit research institute established in 1967, operates as a consortium among various public bodies, including the Municipality of Livorno and the Universities of Pisa, Florence, Siena, Bologna, Turin, Modena and Cagliari.
The venue offered excellent facilities and labs, along with a comfortable meeting room where our brainstorming session unfolded.
We had a packed agenda for the day, which you can find detailed HERE.
In the morning, we were privileged to hear insightful talks from international collaborators: Dr Ezequiel Marzinelli from the University of New South Wales (AU), Dr Jeroen van de Water from the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NL), and Johanna Berlinghof from the University of Bremen (DE). Their contributions added depth to our discussions.
The afternoon was dedicated to more practical discussions among project partners and collaborators. You can find the list of participants below:
Ulisse Cardini, Fabio Bulleri, Laura Carugati, Gabriele Procaccini, Carlo Pretti, Matteo Oliva, Irene Olivè, Jessica Pazzaglia, German Zapata, Alice Blanckaert, Johanna Berlinghof, Ezequiel Marzinelli, Jeroen van de Water.
We concluded the day with a delightful dinner at a traditional trattoria in Livorno.
It was a fantastic start to the ENGAGE project!
